by Rachel, on Friday, 03 September 2010 I've been trying something new lately - since I'm so bad at keeping written journals, I got a nice blank whitepaper book and have been attempting a sketch journal. Results are mixed so far, but I kept a pretty close travel journal during my family's recent vacation. Here are a couple of my favorites from the trip:
by David Dunn, on Friday, 03 September 2010 So my phone wouldn't upload this again....and I was too tired to try last night, so I uploaded it this morning after a good 9 hour sleep.
by spando2, on Thursday, 02 September 2010 This is what happens when you read about chupacabras on wikipedia . . .
A quick color study for, you guessed it, a noahs ark concept. Had a few interesting ideas for it, and mainly want to build my portfolio doing visual development for it. (which would include lots of color key paintings and some designs in there, it should be fun.) So I am actually trying to be productive even though I am out of school and setting my own schedule!
by Jeremy Thompson, on Monday, 30 August 2010 So, I'm sure many of you have heard either on Facebook, or... on... Facebook, but I am currently in LA working on Sam Raimi's next project doing some pre-viz stuff, mainly animatics. I have been here since Thursday, after driving all night Wednesday. I'm not going to sugar-coat it: it's pretty freaking sweet! A dream come true, I shall say. The only, BIG negative is that my wife, Corie, still isn't down here and we need to figure that out, and soon! But yeah, there it is. Hopefully, I'll find some time to post some personal stuff when I get the chance.
by Kelly, on Monday, 30 August 2010 So in addition to the video I wanted to give you a little summary of my day. I got up at 6 AM to drive my mom to the airport so she can go home to Japan. That means I was up bright and early for my first day of classes. I've been emailing the CE department tons over the summer, so when I went in this morning to sign up for my last 2 classes, the secretary upon hearing my name says "Oh, I know exactly who you are." I had 4 classes today: hydrology, reinforced concrete design, intro to transportation engineering, and senior design. I'm excited to be able to design a steel bridge in our senior design class for Rocky Mountain Conference, which is an annual competion between schools in the rocky mountain area. I'm really stoked about that. All my classes were fine today, and I think I'll be okay this semester. I have one class tomorrow, Bridge Design, which should be really interesting and hopefully not too hard. Then Dave wanted me to go get this new book for him at the midnight release at the BYU Bookstore. So essentially I've been up for 19 hours at this point, although I did take a light nap in the middle of the day. Either way, it was a long long day.
